Analyzing Social Media Implementation in Hospitals in the U.S. Midwest Region

The purpose of this research is to explore what scale hospitals are adopting social media and implementing it in accordance with hospital characteristics. We reviewed hospitals’ activities on networking sites such Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube. studied the 912 Midwest region reported 2015 American Hospital Association Annual Survey dataset. each hospital’s social-networking page understand adoption relative characteristics as bed count, state, ownership type (control), specialty (service). also considered whether a network physician-owned. determined degree usage through data user activity from platform. This includes likes followers Twitter subscribers More than 80% study have presence at least one website; however, utilization depends many factors observed that Ohio, government-owned hospitals, children’s higher number full-time registered nurses utilization.
